Both villas feature hot water, fully equipped kitchens with toaster ovens, and everything you need to feel at home. In keeping with our wellness-minded philosophy, we choose not to provide microwaves, encouraging a more mindful approach to everyday living.
Villa 2 is a cozy one-bedroom villa featuring two super-comfortable twin sofa beds, making it a great option for couples, friends or small families. Villa 3 is a beautiful two-bedroom villa and a guest favourite, featuring a stunning outdoor shower and two additional twin sofa beds for extra sleeping space.
Every stay includes daily breakfast at Cafe Playa Negra, just steps away, access to their refreshing pool, and three complimentary drop-in yoga or movement classes per person at our town studio. Choose from our range of yoga, barre and Pilates classes and make your stay a little more nourishing.

Meet Your Hosts
Hali Love & Carlos Velarde, and their two dogs: Tequila & Pirata (pirate)!
Hali and Carlos are the heart behind Playa Negra Studio & Villas. With a shared love for Costa Rica, wellness, movement and the pura vida lifestyle, they have created a little piece of paradise where guests can slow down, reconnect and feel right at home.
Hali brings over 30 years of experience in yoga, wellness and movement, with a passion for creating meaningful experiences that nurture the body, mind and spirit. She is the founder of Hali's Yoga School, offering yoga classes, retreats, wellness experiences and professional yoga teacher training.
Beyond yoga, Hali has extensive training in Ayurveda and subconscious restructuring counselling, and has been a dedicated student of Traditional Chinese Medicine since 2010. Her work brings together Eastern healing traditions, movement, psychology and holistic wellness to support a deeper understanding of the connection between body, mind and emotions.
Carlos brings his warmth, local knowledge and deep connection to the ocean and Costa Rican lifestyle. A former professional surfer and passionate spearfisherman, Carlos knows these waters like home. He also offers private fishing tours aboard his boat, giving guests the opportunity to experience Costa Rica's incredible coastline from the water.
Through his real estate and construction company, Carlos helps others discover the possibilities of owning a piece of paradise. From available lots for sale to beautifully built homes, guests and prospective buyers are invited to book a complimentary property tour and explore what Carlos has created.
And of course, no introduction would be complete without their two four-legged family members, Tequila and Pirata! Tequila is the lovable, laid-back member of the pack, while Pirata brings plenty of puppy energy, curiosity and personality to the family.
