200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training
Level 1 Trauma Aware YTT
May 1 - 21, 2027 Playa Negra, Costa Rica
Starting at $2,500 shared accommodations.
An Immersive Yoga Teacher Training Designed to Transform the Way You Practice, Teach & Live

This training is about more than learning how to teach yoga.
It is about learning to observe, listen, adapt, communicate, and teach with awareness, confidence, compassion, and intention. It is an opportunity to deepen not only your understanding of yoga, but your understanding of yourself and the kind of teacher you want to become.
Designed for both first-time and experienced teachers, this immersive training explores trauma-aware movement, autonomy, choice, agency, accessibility, and practical teaching experience, while creating space for a deepening of your own personal development, self-awareness, and relationship with yoga.
You’ll be invited to question, explore, grow, and develop the skills to create meaningful experiences for your students while building a teaching practice that feels authentic to you.
Over 21 immersive days in beautiful Playa Negra, Costa Rica, you’ll step away from your everyday routine and into an environment designed for learning, connection, practice, reflection, and growth.
This is an opportunity to immerse yourself in yoga while developing the practical skills required to confidently teach others.
You’ll explore the foundations of yoga, anatomy, philosophy, movement, meditation, pranayama, sequencing, teaching methodology, trauma-aware principles, personal development, and the business of yoga.
And throughout it all, you’ll have the opportunity to discover your own voice as a teacher.
Your Level 1 Trauma Aware Yoga Teacher Training includes 2 signature teaching methods.
Rather than leaving you with just one way to teach, this training gives you two distinctive signature methods to add to your teaching toolkit. You’ll develop the confidence and versatility to teach different students, different bodies, and different needs, while discovering which styles and approaches feel most authentic to you.
You’ll receive in-depth training in Gentle Hatha and Flow 44, with dedicated time to understand, practice, and teach each method. Together, they give you a strong foundation for creating classes that are purposeful, accessible, engaging, and trauma-aware.
"Yoga is when every cell in your body, sings the song of your soul." BKS Iyengar

Flow 44
A grounding, trauma-aware practice designed to support nervous system regulation, body awareness and emotional resilience.
Flow 44 is a consistent sequence of 44 postures practiced in the same order, creating familiarity and predictability while allowing students to develop a deeper relationship with their body and breath. Rather than focusing on achieving perfect shapes, this trauma-aware approach encourages choice, self-awareness and curiosity.
Students are invited to explore movement at their own pace, notice sensations without judgment, and adapt postures to meet their needs each day. The consistent sequence creates a familiar framework while allowing each person to decide how they move, rest and participate.
Gentle Hatha
A slow, supportive practice that invites you to reconnect with your body, breath and inner awareness.
Gentle Hatha uses accessible postures, mindful movement, breath awareness and intentional pauses to create space for exploration without pressure or performance. A trauma-aware approach emphasizes choice, autonomy and the ability to modify, pause or rest whenever needed.
Rather than pushing toward a particular outcome, students are encouraged to notice what feels supportive in their bodies and develop trust in their own internal cues. This practice offers a gentle environment to slow down, reconnect and experience yoga as a personal practice rather than something that needs to be performed.

Trauma - Aware Yoga
Trauma-aware yoga isn't about diagnosing trauma or trying to fix someone. It is about understanding that every person arrives on their mat with a unique history, body, nervous system, lived experience, and relationship with movement. You’ll explore how to create classes that are more inclusive, respectful, and responsive by developing skills around:
-
Choice and agency
-
Autonomy
-
Accessible language
-
Consent and boundaries
-
Observation
-
Inclusive cueing
-
Adaptation
-
Interoception
-
Creating psychological and physical safety
-
Recognizing when less is more
-
Supporting students without taking responsibility for their healing

Personal Development
Your teacher training is also an opportunity to deepen your relationship with yourself. Through yoga, reflection, philosophy, meditation, movement, and personal exploration, you’ll have space to examine your own patterns, beliefs, conditioning, boundaries, values, and relationship with others. Because becoming a better teacher begins with becoming more aware of yourself.
The Business of Yoga
Teaching yoga is more than knowing how to lead a class. You’ll also explore what it means to create a sustainable yoga career that reflects your values, strengths, experience, and unique voice. We’ll look at the business side of teaching, including developing your offering, finding your audience, communicating your value, building confidence, and creating a teaching practice that can support you beyond the studio floor.

Your Lead Facilitator: Hali Love, ERYT500+
Yoga Therapist
With more than 30 years of experience in yoga and over 18 years as a yoga business owner, Hali Love brings a wealth of experience, knowledge, and real-world teaching wisdom to this training. She is an experienced yoga educator, entrepreneur, and the founder of Virtual Prana and Playa Negra Yoga in Costa Rica. Her approach to teaching brings together yoga philosophy, Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, psychology, anatomy, and modern movement principles to create an approach to yoga that is both deeply rooted and relevant to the way we live today.
Hali has dedicated decades to studying not only how the body moves, but how our experiences, emotions, beliefs, and environments can influence the way we relate to ourselves and others. Her teaching is grounded in awareness, empowerment, personal responsibility, compassion, and choice, with a strong emphasis on helping students develop the confidence to think, feel, explore, and make informed decisions for themselves.
As an educator, Hali believes that becoming a great yoga teacher is about far more than memorizing sequences or learning how to give instructions. It is about developing the ability to see the person in front of you, communicate clearly, create connection, adapt when needed, and continue growing as a teacher and as a human being.
Her passion for education has taken her beyond the traditional yoga studio. Hali has taught at international yoga events including Wanderlust and the OM Yoga Show in the UK, worked with corporate wellness programs including Amazon and Kayak, and has spent years developing teacher trainings and educational programs designed to give students practical knowledge they can actually use.
At the heart of Hali's teaching is a simple belief: your yoga practice should help you become more fully yourself, not someone else's version of a yoga teacher. This training reflects that philosophy, giving you the tools, knowledge, experience, and support to develop your own authentic voice while becoming a confident, thoughtful, and trauma-aware teacher.
