For our Founder Hali Love, Costa Rica has always been a magical place. She hosted her first Costa Rica Retreat in 2009, and loved it so much that she permanently relocated from Canada to Costa Rica in 2011. Hali founded Playa Negra Yoga Centre in 2011, which is now ran as a community based retreat; which supports local restaurants and accommodations in the vicinity of her yoga centre. Hali Love's goal with her yoga centre is to give back through yoga, a practice that she explains saved her life. Playa Negra Yoga Centre offers sponsorships and scholarships for yoga teacher trainings, classes and retreats to those who may not be able to afford such a life enriching experience. A portion of all profits are donated to two foundations that are dear to Love's Heart: Hope 4 A Street Dog, which is a local foundation that helps treat stray dogs and cats in Los Pargos and the surrounding areas, and Fierce Calm, A UK based foundation that uses every cent they receive to help women and men around the world.
